"I’d like to shoot-err,ahh… make that film in your courthouse"
On March 11, 2005 Brian Nichols shoots and kills three people inside an Atlanta courthouse. I choose this day to ask the Birmingham Courthouse’s security manager for permission to film inside his building. "Whatever you say, don’t say ‘shoot’," I tell myself. "Use ‘film’ instead." Two minutes, three ‘shoots’ and one awkward silence later, I had my permission.
